Matching Sponsorships Help You Reach Your Community!
One of our primary goals is to work with churches and other groups to provide assistance to the children of
impoverished and homeless families. Among our efforts, we offer a Matching Sponsorship Program. This provides groups with the opportunity to offer places at camp to needy families in their area. For up to fifty needy children sponsored by any group, Brigadoon, through Philip Cameron Ministries, will provide sponsorship for another child free of charge, allowing free use of the camp facilities by up to one hundred needy children in each group. This particular program is offered to groups on the understanding that the families and children to be assisted are demonstrably in need, such as those from deprived communities, families whose income falls below the poverty line, or who are enduring difficulties due to unemployment, or who are in receipt of government benefits, or who are utilizing facilities for the homeless.
This effort will provide the opportunity to attend camp to children who would otherwise be unable to afford to participate in the activities of these churches and groups. As well as providing accommodation, meals and snacks, this of course includes access to major recreational facilities, organized activities, team sports and other resources, all vital in addressing quality of life issues experienced by needy children.
Eligible Group Sponsorships
In addition to the Matching Sponsorship Program, we also provide a Group Sponsorship Program. For eligible groups of needy children, we provide at no charge, full access to camp facilities and amenities as stated above to the entire group (that is, without the need for the eligible group to provide payment for matching sponsorships). Eligible groups are generally organizations who provide direct care to children, such as children’s homes. For example, beneficiaries of this program have included children of incarcerated parents in the care of the Adullam House organization. Please contact us today to see if your group qualifies.
Other Benevolence Efforts
By booking your camp at Brigadoon, you enable us to provide assistance to others in need. With your support, Philip Cameron Ministries and Brigadoon will continue to provide accommodation, meals and other benefits to
various individuals. These include:
- Those actively participating in Recovery Programs pertaining to drug and alcohol abuse. These individuals, because of their situation, are often unemployed, would be homeless but for the accommodations provided by the program, and are among the most needy of help as they have committed to a genuine effort to rebuild their lives and become productive members of the community once again.
- Homeless families, offering a place to stay and other assistance as the need arises.
- Evacuees during weather emergencies.
- Orphans who have come into the care of our organization via our worldwide humanitarian efforts. These are children who are either complete orphans, or who have been abandoned into the orphanage system by a parent or guardian. This effort is primarily (but not exclusively) an extension of our international Stella’s House program. Stella’s House operates facilities for the care of at-risk young women when they are released from orphanages and often fall prey to dangers such as sex trafficking. An organizing principle of Stella’s Houses is that they ensure the provision of ongoing education for the children to help ensure they are able to gain employment and eventually live independent of the need for our assistance. As part of this educational effort, children from Stella’s House come to us in America all year long. Their activities include learning English, events designed to evoke interest in culture, literature and the arts, as well as offering the same recreational
amenities available to all guests and residents at Brigadoon.
